Waterjet cutting is the process of cutting of a variety of materials using high-pressure jets of water mixed with an abrasive substance. OMAX introduces advanced waterjet cutting machines which guarantees precise and effective cutting of materials. It involves the following steps:
High-Pressure Water Generation
-Using a high-pressure pump, the water is pressurized to extremely high levels, typically ranging from 30000 to 90000 pounds per square inch(psi).
Abrasive Mixing
-Fine granular abrasive materials ( such as garnet) are mixed with the high-pressure water stream. The presence of the abrasive substance catalyses the cutting process, thereby improving the precision.
Nozzle and Focus Tube
The pressurized water mixed with the abrasive substance is then passed through a small jewel aperture in a nozzle, which focuses the jet to a powerful stream. This nozzle directs the jet to the material to be cut.
Cutting Process
The focused stream of water and the abrasive substance together erodes the material by cutting through it as it passes through it. The speed and movement of the nozzle are controlled by CNC/ Computer Numerical Control, which is based on a pre-programmed design.
